The Gurkha Museum in Winchester is a huge tribute to the brave and loyal mercenaries from poor Tibet who fought for the British. Everybody should be aware of this wonderful alliance.

The Gurkha have been the bravest men in the British army. Thanks to Joanne Lumleys work to give them citizenship and pensions they are now properly honoured. If we look at the museum it won't take long to see the marvellous and courages fighters they...More

Had a very enjoyable and interesting visit to this museum. I particularly enjoyed the dioramas that had been constructed some of which had some informative audio albeit in a rather clipped English accent. It was well laid out with a chronological walk through how the...More

The loyalty and bravery of the Gurkha is well commemorated in this excellent museum. The especially vivid dioramas take us from India's NW frontier through the World Wars, Malaya the Falklands and beyond. A hidden treasure for military buffs.

Hi Peter, we didn't need a lift but we think there may be one at the Gurkha museum. Have you thought to ring and ask them?
