I have just completed the walk - I took 6 days going on the inland route to Eastbourne, then took the bus back to The Seven Sisters to complete the coastal route on the 7th day. It is an easy walk, compared to others I...More

We walked the section from Winchester to Amberley in 3 days staying in East Meon (great B&B Pound Orchard) and Midhurst the Swan Inn (great host) - was quite challenging in parts under foot as most of this is on hard terrain, paths and roads...More

We walked the first half of the SDW, from Winchester to Amberley, over four days. Despite many reviews suggesting this is a moderate route, it is pretty challenging with many rough surfaces and some steep ascents and descents. However the awesomeness of the scenery, the...More

We have selected a number of day walks to complete the South Downs way. So far we have found it easy to follow the waymarkers and not got lost! Also use OS maps app which is really useful and well worth paying £25 per year.

Scenic, even in the dark with a headtorch! So close to the start of the South Downs Way. A 2 mile walk, or short cab journey. Great eating places in nearby location.
