Multi-Award Winning Vita Skin Spa comes to Winchester. In March 2020 we opened our second spa in our newly refurbished grade 2* listed building, It has eight treatment rooms, including luxurious double rooms.

A year ago I decided to take advantage of the membership package and it was one of my better decisions !! Yesterday I used my last voucher and had simply the best facial ever - I love this spa, the therapists are all amazing and it has a lovely, calm and friendly atmosphere - Nikki the owner is great at accommodating and is doing an amazing job of managing during times of staff sickness etc. This is an oasis of calm and self care in this mad world. Can’t recommend enough.

First time at Vita & wow what an experience. Me and my partner had the full body Swedish massage. Honestly, the best massage I have ever had - so relaxing ! Staff are wonderful, friendly & made me feel so comfortable. Will definitely be returning. 😁

I tried booking a Festive Treatment for myself and a friend 3 months prior to the date we were looking at. I eventually got through to someone who was unsure what specials were going up, if the shower had been fixed (last year we had an issue with the shower there going scolding hot to freezing every 30 seconds) this was a specific request as we did not want to go through that again! I was advised someone would call me back by the following day. I had to chase up this phone call twice, then had to chase up again for the confirmation the treatments had been booked.
The day before our treatments, I received a text asking to move our appointment 15 minutes later to which we agreed to. The morning of the treatments I get another text at 8am asking to move the treatments by 15minutes (back to our original time), I was travelling as this spa is over 2 hours from where I live and an hour from my friend who I was going with. With the changes so late we text the lady to advise with the changes and where we were travelling from(they had this information on record as this was our 3rd time attending the spa), we had no acknowledgement!
When we arrived at the spa we waited a few minutes before being taken into the treatment room. We were then asked as we were late did we want to swap from a full body massage to a back neck and shoulders, we explained the situation to the therapists who were not aware of the changes we were asked to make and said of course they would keep it a fully body.
As it was a seasonal special treatment we had a scrub and mud wrap, after we were sent to shower. I didn’t think twice that we would have the same issue as a year ago! Both of us had to shower under awful conditions from being scolded to being frozen, let me tell you it’s extremely difficult to get scrub and mud off in these conditions.
When returning to the treatment room one of our therapists asked how everything was so we said there is still an issue a year later with the shower, it’s unpleasant, not relaxing and I specifically asked if this was fixed. The lady apologised and advised us this was not the first complaint they had and it’s still not been resolved, she also advised she would inform management.
Please note the therapists were amazing and really tried to ensure we were relaxed at our next stage in our treatment.
When we went to pay, the lady on the desk asked how everything was, we didn’t say anything so she said ‘oh that doesn’t sound great’, so we relayed the whole situation after which she asked the Spa Directors husband (part owner) if she could give us a 10% discount, we had said we weren’t looking for any discount only providing feedback as we were specially asked. Everything was put on one card, when we left I checked how much the treatments were each and how much actually went on card… when my friend told me immediately that wasn’t 10%. We returned to the spa saw one of our therapist and explained, she went and got the lady from the desk. We then got told nothing could be done yet as the Spa Director was in treatments, we said we’d speak to her husband (part owner) and couldn’t give us a cash refund. The lady went off, come back and said we can give you a credit to use in here again. We both said no as you’ve now over charged what was advised and how unhappy we were yet again after a treatment.
Whilst we were standing there one of our therapists came back down again, when she saw us still there she went and got the co owner, he walked straight past us and didn’t say anything. He told the lady on the desk to give us a refund but she hadn’t been shown how to do this. When she came over with the card machine, we didn’t get a refund we was charged again! In the end our therapist asked her and the co owner to give us a cash refund as we had now wasted over 20minutes trying to resolve this.
The Spa director was concerned she called us in the evening, telling us she had a plumber out, who advised there is an issue when their washing machine was on so effects the shower. We acknowledged the spa was new in 2020 so there were teething issues but a year later to still have bad water pressure, treatment rooms not warm as it’s an old building the heating needs to be put on sooner, the shower issue is a health and safety hazard. We really don’t need to be told “hopefully you will come back and have a treatment that doesn’t involve a shower. I know our treatments are good”. Her main concern in this follow up was to ensure we don’t write any review which may affect their awards as she maintained that our main issue had only affected one other person the past two weeks. In addition, whilst trying to resolve the over payment two other people arrived, changed then decided to cancel their treatments which was of no surprise to the therapist.

This review is not a reflection on the two therapists we had, they were great.

I am sorry you felt so disappointed with your visit to us. I called you in the evening to apologise and explain the reasons for some of the things that happened. I didn’t say anything about you not leaving a review, nor anything about our awards, so I’m not sure why you have said I only called you to stop you leaving a review. I called because I had heard that you were unhappy and I wanted to find out more about it and wanted to apologise. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to help at the time, as I was in treatments, covering for one of the therapists who was off sick. I therefore wanted to call you once I finished treatments to talk through your experience. Sadly your treatments were changed by 15 minutes because we had two therapists off sick that day. That was the only reason for the change in times, as we were trying to still fit you in despite sickness. You had agreed that you could make the change in timing so we thought that was ok. The therapists still managed to fit in your full treatment despite you arriving late. With two therapists off sick, we were trying hard to fit everyone in and didn’t think a 15 minute change would cause too much problem. The receptionist who was working is new to the spa and therefore hadn’t had to deal with any refunds to that point. I can only apologise that this took longer than expected to deal with and that she was confused with this process. The shower problem is not something that we have experienced all year. We have had a couple of instances where it has been difficult to get a consistent temperature and this has now been addressed by a plumber. We apologise for this. I’m sorry that you feel we are not what we used to be. Hopefully our very recent and plentiful 5 star reviews and our awards that you so kindly mentioned, show that we are still offering a 5 star experience, just as we always have done. Everyone is struggling with sickness at the moment and we are just asking our guests to be understanding of small changes if we do need to fit everyone in when sickness occurs.

I absolutely LOVE going to Vita Skin Spa in Winchester!

The whole experience from the time I walk in the door is one of quality and professionalism, whilst feeling warm and friendly.

I spoke with Holly Rose who is one of their skin professionals and she gave me such good advice about my skin and what treatments she would recommend, plus how to look after my skin at home.

I feel totally at ease that they are always giving me best advice. I love my visits and my skin is glowing!

I booked in for a full body, face and scalp Lava Shell massage with Lauren, followed by a pedicure with Leigh-Anne. It was an absolute treat! I have a 9 month old baby so my back and glutes were in dire need of some deep massage so I requested firm pressure, and that's what I got. Lauren even added some deeper tissue massage where I needed it. The entire massage was 90% bliss, 10% working out tight spots and knots, but afterwards I felt like myself again so definitely got my money's-worth, and the pedicure was lovely to finish the afternoon - I now have very tidy, festive twinkle-toes! Will definitely be booking in again when I'm in need of an occasional treat in future...

This is a beautiful spa in the centre of Winchester. Very tranquil, always a pleasure to visit and delivers an excellent Signature Back/Neck/Shoulder/Face and Head Massage everytime. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

The Vita team are warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and I was made to feel so relaxed and pampered throughout my Spa day at Winchester. A big thank you to Holly, Leanne, Lauren and Jo for a wonderful experience x

Have always loved visiting Vita Skin Spa and in the past have used the one in Salisbury. Now my daughter lives nearer Winchester we visited this branch. So relaxing and welcoming as always.

I've had a couple of facials at the Spa now and both were fabulous and beneficial. I particularly want to mention Monika, who is so experienced and caring with the work that she does, along with the other staff members. It feels so relaxing, I don't want it to end! I highly recommend the spa.

I have visited the spa several times now and I can highly recommend their friendly, professional
and top quality approach. I would especially like to mention how good Lauren is with deep tissue massage therapy. I have had many treatments in my time but she is the best I have found and I will be back.
