Great theatre - one of the very best outside London - perhaps even including. Parking is reasonable - there are two multi-stories nearby and its similarly close to Southampton Central railway station and the bus routes. Seats are not the most comfortable but OK. Foyer, bars and the ovation restaurant upstairs are all good. Ovation opens for pre-show meals. A... More

A great traditional theatre. We sat in the £55 seats (Rear Circle)which were central and comfortable. I am glad that I am now the owner of a pair of varifocals because the stage settings were not blurred as they would have been in the days when I would turn up to a theatre without my distance specks! The little eyeglasses... More

Visited for the first time the Mayflower to see 'Billy Elliot'. Theatre very traditional and full of atmosphere and from the programme often has good shows straight from the West End at a fraction of the price. Will certainly be booking again.

This theatre has the London shows without that hassle of going to London. We have seen quite a few over the years. All seats have a good view. Sound system is good. Good bar facilities for before and during intervals. Public parking is a short walk away but reduced to £2 for the evening performances.

The staff were friendly, seats usual for theatres, not enough leg room!! Got very hot up in the balcony seats so wear cool clothing. And be fit enough to do the 84 steps or pay to sit in the stalls!

We came to see Billy Elliott as a half term treat and were really excited. The theatre is beautiful, the production amazing but the staff showing us to our seats were grumpy. We tried to buy a programme but they gave us the wrong one. When we tried to exchange it you'd have thought we were asking for the world!... More

Theatre seats provide sufficient leg room, not like some theatres. I just wish there were more captioned shows for the hearing impaired
