As others have said the park could be a lovely place to visit but for some of the people in it or more to the point what they do in full view of everyone, which is disgusting. A... read more

Walked through this beautiful park on the way to town from our hotel. It was beautiful, with lots of different areas for the kids to discover and enjoy. We liked the mosaics the most. Didn't see anyone doing anything unsavoury there, but I guess I was enjoying the park too much to be looking at other people.

The title of this review sounds like the pirate map from the hilarious old film yellow beard!! But is actually a guide to fitting in in the central parks of Southampton these days!! They are like a magnet for drunks and drug addicts! They take it in turns begging in the town centre, they share dogs and the majority of... More

Behind Above Bar Street in the City Centre, on the way down to Debenhams there is a really good children's play area. We use it with our children of 18 months and 3 and a half and they love it. There are a variety of different pieces of equipment that should keep different ages occupied including climb on boat and... More

This park is close to my hotel, it's a very good park and you can approach city Center via this park. It's good to avoid in the night.

The parks are quite picturesque during the day and would be a nice place if it wasn't for the drunks that are all over the place, sleeping on benches and just generally everywhere. At night is a complete no go as there are so many assaults/muggings it's far safer to avoid and use a taxi.

During the day the parks are great and a nice walk however there are drunks that sit in these parks during the day. My girlfriend and I had a nice summer picnic in one of the parks only to get verbally abused by a drunk man. Avoid walking through the parks at night as sexual assaults have been reported.

The quickest way to walk from one end of the town to the other is in a direct line from Mayflower Park or the docks, up the QE2 mile, High St and Above Bar. But a prettier way, in an oasis of green, is to walk through 5 more of Southampton's many parks that are linked by wide roads. Hoglands... More
