Combined with the visit to the victory it provides a really great introduction to the battle of trafalgar. A useful interactive quiz provokes thoughtful reflection and the aud-visual presentation was outstanding in its portrail Well done the historic dockyards
Don't know if which way round we should have done this. I think we should have done it twice before and after the Victory as it helped to make sense of a lot of what we had seen.

Re-visit, but we always find just that one extra snippet of information. Brings back memories of earlier visits. Explains the history of the ship figureheads and shows, I think a replica, of the funeral barge which took Lord Nelson on the Thames.
I agree that it is best to do this after visiting HMS Victory. The museum is excellent with much to see including an interesting collection of nautical figureheads but the real treat is the Panorama. The film and narration about the Battle of Trafalgar is...More
As part of our visit to the dockyard, we entered this exhibition, it was very good, gave a good insight to how they built HMS Victory and the costs, some nice paintings and a good view over the harbour towards Gosport.
We felt that HMS Victory was mostly about the men who served on her, their experiences, incredibly tough lives and a nod to Lord Nelson, albeit he is present in every nook and cranny on the ship. This, however, was more about the man himself,...More
