When you have the ticket to do everything on the historic dockyard then this is definitely worth a visit. Personally, after reading the reviews here, I did expect a little more of it.

We did the visit to HMS Victory before visiting this attraction. We were fortunate that the volunteer guide Anthony gave us an excellent account of the Battle and what to look for in the ship. Had he not been there, we would have missed a great deal. Had we gone first to the exhibit we would have known exactly what... More

A fascinating insight, not only of the Battle, but the ships, the men, and, of course, Nelson himself. As others have commented, it's worthwhile visiting this exhibition before visiting HMS Victory I think. This will afford the visitor a much greater insight into the `hell and hero's' of the day on the 21 October 1805, when Nelson and his Fleet... More

Excellent area to walk around and take in all the history of Trafalgar. It is right next to the Mary Rose so easy to see both at the same time.

Mary Rose from the time of Henry VIII extracted from the bottom in 1982, HMS Victory liner sailing, admiral Nelson and ship HMS Warrior - the first armored ship. It is worth visiting the Royal Navy Museum to feel the taste of British naval history

Before or after going aboard Victory, do go to the Trafalgar Experience to fully appreciate the battle and its significance. We also liked the exhibition of ships figureheads on the upper floor of the museum.

Very informative Museum with all the info you need like prize money awarded by the UK govts and more and more about Nelson and the trafalgar war and a 15min film which is surely scary for kids around 6 yrs age atleast it happened for my kids. Overall great museum to be honest and its included in all inclusive ticket.

This museum is ideally located directly opposite HMS Victory. I would recommend that you go in hear first before getting onto the great ship herself. You will then be able to get an idea of what her role was in this most important historic moment. The museum does a good job and is well laid out. Upstairs is a tremendous... More

We stayed at The Quays so had amazing views of Portsmouth Harbour from our apartment. Great shopping area and a wonderful choice of restaurants and bars. The highlight had to be the day in the Historic Dockyard and the harbour tour. One day at the Dockyard is not enough if you want to experience everything. We have been before but... More
