Highly recommend visiting the Royal Marines Museum building and gardens in Eastney, Portsmouth - even if the museum itself is closed pending its total contents’ move to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard being completed - to view imposing architecture, lovely gardens, and war memorials.

Visited August 2017 and it was closed, pending the move to the Historic Dockyard. There's no other reason to go to this end of Southsea, so you can save yourself a journey.
