Ideal for relaxing on the beach. Close to town but relatively uncrowded. Ideal for collecting mussels, good surfing spots but water can be very cold. Can be windy in summer too

Thinking of a drive between Simon's Town and Kommetjie? then call into a couple of eating places here or walk along the beach. Surfers are regular visitors, or the views are just stunning.

This is a rough but tremendously beautiful beach. Popular with surfers and absolutely terrifying for parents with small kids (you can just imagine the rip curls!!!). Totally worth a visit, and a dip of the feet. Provided that it's not too windy, in which case...More

This is my favourite beach in Western Cape. It has a beautiful barren nature around it and small nice village. As it both has sand and cliffs, there is something for all tastes. For me it is the breathtaking beauty of the whole setting, the...More

Nice and quiet beach, not very big, but clean with parking at the beach. Public toilets available, so is security for the carpark.

If you are on your way to the cape you must stop there. The beach is really nice and the view of the coast is amazing

In my view this is a must place/beach to come to if you are in Cape Town. It is a bit of a drive from Cape Town - about an hour or 40kms but a convenient time to visit would be after going to Cape...More

Need time alone? Want to run the dog, or take the umbrella, kids and picnic blankets; either way, this is the best beach in the South. Remember the locals like to keep it a secret, so rushing down in hoards is not recommended.

Soft sand, vast skies, refreshing Atlantic Ocean, very clean beach and area in general. Safe for children! Great for walking your dog(s) as many people living there have at least one, if not 4!

I can honestly say this is one of the best beaches I've been to. Pristine sand and stunning scenery abounds.

How wonderful to find this totally natural, unspoilt beach, just as created by the environment & treasured & safe-guarded by it's inhabitants. The one element it shares with "our" Scarborough East Yorkshire is the bracing breeze which was very welcome & refreshing on a hot day
