There is a lot of sitting in a van listening to the guide talk about the history of the area and then getting out to see the lovely manor houses and sites. If I had children that age, I'm not thinking they'd be entertained. In addition, the cottage is small and the food is "finger food". It is spectacular, but not are it's for small children.
