The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a 12 mile steam and diesel heritage railway in the beautiful English Cotswolds. Visit the GWR stations at Toddington (postcode GL54 5DT), Winchcombe (GL54 5LD), or Cheltenham Race Course (GL50 4SH).

Free Parking, and there is so much to do in addition to riding on the heritage trains. There are authentic Great Western Railway stations and well-stocked shops. Catering options include the buffet car on the train, the Flag & Whistle Restaurant at Toddington Station and the 1950s themed Coffee Pot cafe at Winchcombe Station. There is a model railway coach and the Discovery Coach at Winchcombe Station, whilst at Toddington there is a self-guided heritage trail, a children’s play area, a have-a-go signalbox and a locomotive yard viewing area.

Check out our website to see the operating days, the train times and the range of this year's special events, both for enthusiasts and for children.

I live near Cheltenham, so I visit this railway several times during the year. They put on many interesting events over the year so it pays to get a programme, or visit their website, to see which interest you and your family.

Original plan was to visit Winchcombe Station as was rebuilt from Monmouth Troy Station (Our home town). Discovered that the trains were running so decided to make a day of it, and what a day it was. Bought two day rover tickets at £17 each and spent the afternoon on the train. The staff were helpful and enthusiastic and the... More

What a wonderful day we had. From the pretty Cheltenham Racecourse Station set in a pine lined cutting to Toddington station which is a busy visitor centre and completely Pre Beeching period. The tracksides are well trimmed and the staff as friendly as true enthusiasts can be 😊. Ticket prices are very reasonable considering what it must cost to run... More

I spent the day here as a guest while my husband enjoyed the driving/firing gold course offered by the railway. Arriving at 8.30 with a friendly greeting from various volunteers we were then provided with an excellent full English breakfast. The participants were then taken off for demos and instruction and guests were given a tour of the train sheds,... More

Overall an excellent day out and a lovely scenic trip through the Gloucestershire countryside whilst supporting he heritage railway. Throughout the year the GWSR run events for all ages, Steam fair's, fish and chip specials, Wartime events, days out with Thomas... More

If you have any interest in steam or diesel railway then this is the place for you. Filled with wonderful old engines, lovingly restored to working order, running through the lovely cotswolds. This is a great day out for young and old.

A wonderful railway in the beautiful Cotswolds. It has it all and also features in "Father Brown". I really look forward to the extension to Broadway which will add even more interest. You must visit.
