Loads of car parking at Rye Harbour "Free Car Park", also public toilets near the car park. Many fine walks around the Reserve but few places to seat or get out of the weather. After visiting the Reserve try the cafe at the Harbour.

We visited on a beautiful January afternoon. There are lovely walks across the reserve and down to the sea with hides to watch the birds. Great for dog walking. And it's free!

We wanted to go somewhere for a nice walk with the dog and this seemed ideal. We were lucky in that it was a bright December day, although a little chilly, and I'd imagine that it would be even nicer in the summer, although I'd presume that the free car park will be an awful lot busier then! The walking... More

Have been to Rye several times but have never been to the Nature Reserve. Decided to go for a walk there between Christmas and new year. The weather was lovely, we walked further that we anticipated, 2 hours in total. There is a choice of walks, longer and shorter ones. As you walk round there are several information signs telling... Take a walk, look for birds, enjoy the scenery. All very clean tidy and accessible. Asphalt paths, flat and in fine repair. Hides for the bird watchers and a visitors centre. The parking is free. Thanks

Blue skies, blue waters, wild birds and sheep sipping at the waters edge. Lovely place. Like a dog parade on Boxing Day, usually quieter, but crowds were out. However still felt semi empty.

A great place for unspoilt coast and peacefulness. Stop at the old Lifeboat station to pay respects to the brave souls who lost their lives helping others.

We found Rye Harbour Nature Reserve to be a great place for walking, birding, scenery and beaches. The birds are stunning and wildflowers abound in season. Check the Sussex Wildlife site for events as there are guided walks and children's activities. The Information Centre, Lime Kiln Cottage, is manned by helpful, friendly volunteers and is well worth a visit. We... More

This is the hidden jewel of the south east. In the summer it is ideal for beach fun, dog walking & cycling the road running along side the harbour and beach. (not open to transport except emergency services or staff from the reserve.) In the winter it is desolate and beautiful. The Bosuns bite and William the conquer are there... More
