Nature Walks
Jun. 2021 • Couples
A great place for walking, very flat, you can walk to the beach or enjoy the birds through the viewing areas, we live quite nearby and it’s one of our favourite places to enjoy, there is a new nature centre and cafe which has great coffee and scones.

Great way to experience a variety of habitats
Jun. 2021
Spent a happy couple of days wandering around the reserve. All good and interesting - however, it was tricky to navigate in places, came up against a lot of 'private' do not not come onto our land signs (private property as opposed to protecting wildlife areas), we had clearly wandered off the main path some how but that was because in places it was not very clear. Also it would be good if the centre ran some adult walks - seems plenty for brats but little for adults in terms of guidance which is a shame.

Tranquil Nature Reserve...
Jun. 2021
Went with family and spent 2/3 hours in Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
Easy to find and plenty of free car parking available.
The sea air and breeze made for a very pleasant walk along the
well maintained paths. Saw a few cyclists out and about too.
Various short or long routes can be followed.
Perfect for bird watchers with many bird hides.
New visitor centre just opened, combined with cafe and facilities.
Well worth a visit.

Sea air and flat walks through fantastic bird country

Great walks through the bird watching areas, and along the beach. New visitor centre serving snacks and more information. On bike even more to explore. Love the views over to Camber sands. This place is now on our regular must visit agenda.

Perfect place for walking and cycling
Apr. 2021
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a perfect place for walking and cycling. It's easy to social distance as there's plenty of space to lose yourself and just drink in the beauty of nature. Great on a sunny day but, when a sea mist rolls in, it can feel kind of eerie.

Nice walk on a sunny day. Plenty of photo opportunities to catch wildlife and beach scenes. We are looking forward to coming back after mid May when the new visitor centre opens.

Crabbing!!!
Apr. 2021 • Family
Great fun for all. Buy the crabbing kits from the local shop, smelly bacon bait works brilliantly, drop the nets over the side of the harbour (weigh down nets with a few stones if needed) and enjoy the hilarity when you get a crab!! Watch out for the crazy seagulls!!! Excellent hours of enjoyment- even in the not so warm English April sun!! We caught 8 -10 crabs today - all returned safely to the water when we left. Seagulls enjoyed the bacon feast too!!

Not environmentally friendly
Mar. 2021 • Family
Disappointed that for somewhere so focused on nature, is ignorant enough not to have litter bins. The beach is covered in litter, and there is no surprise when there is no trash can in sight. But every 100 meters there is a bin for dog poo - which is biodegradable unlike plastic. It is disappointing that something so nature focused fails to recognise the problem of litter in our oceans and doesn’t provide any amenities to discourage such behaviour. If they can afford to build a new visitors centre like they just have, they can afford to put in frequently spaced rubbish bins on the sidewalks and by the beaches.
