Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have periodically visited Middle Farm, mainly to stock up on local beer, which would otherwise be difficult to find. I often come away with £120 worth. On the back of it my partner does a shop and maybe a visit to the restaurant/cafe. Now they have almost ceased stocking local beer, except for one cabinet, which is about 60% Harvey's. If I wished to buy only Harveys I can carry on down the road and get a better variety at the Brewery shop, not to mention a small difference in cost.
So that's Middle Farm off the menu now! I hope for their sake that the figures for craft beer v ciders is none too accurate. Cider is generally reckoned to be less than 6%.
Middle Farm is quite a good place to visit, but realistically it's a retail outlet and not a lot else.

I bought 2 x 2 pints of the cider on tap from barrels in the shop. It was absolutely vile! It smelled and tasted of Germolene! I got several friends to try it and they all agreed. No-one would drink it. I don’t know if it was contaminated with cleaning fluid or whether it just tastes bad normally. I bought 2 different types from 2 different barrels. It was really expensive too and I just had to tip it all away.
We didn’t visit the farm area as it was closed but the prices were very high for a few animals and a playground. The lady in the shop was very nice but explained what there was on offer - not much!
The farm shop had typical farm shop fare with high-priced jars of this and that and expensive tired veg of unlabelled provenance.
It would have been mediocre but the disgusting cider made it terrible.

I visited here today with my 13 year old son who was really interested in the animals, there were plenty of animals to see and some informative signs, our only criticism would be that the farm trail isn't very well sign posted, which makes it unclear which path to go on. It would be helpful if there were a map of the farm and the trail. Alas, the farm shop offers a wide selection of food and drink at reasonable prices, including many gluten free products which I was pleased to see. Overall a very good day, we spent nearly 3 hours there and it is certainly worth the visit.

We went here last week despite all the bad reviews and were so pleasantly surprised. The staff were unbelievably kind and friendly and seemed to go out of their way to be both helpful and chatty. The animals all beautifully well kept and healthy with a nice variety to see. Great little playground with real tractors to play on, gorgeous farm shop & garden centre and though we didn't try the cafe the seating area was in lovely surroundings and looked well worth trying. This place is really worth stopping at, there's lots to see and enjoy and the people working here are making a really big effort to give you an enjoyable, pleasant experience.

Popped in yesterday . Bought a malted loaf of bread which was so disappointing, £3.49 and stale . Saw the notice that coffee machine wasn’t working so thought we would see if they had a hot chocolate. Waited behind another couple placing an order. The lady serving then totally ignored us and went and cleared a table, we were the only people waiting so she could have done it after serving us. When she did come back I asked if they did hot chocolate and I just got a “no”. So rude we walked out and won’t be going back .

Nice little farm . £7 each entry , with animal feeding and sheep training at different times throughout the day . The small animals and barn animals are very friendly . There’s a couple of small play areas . The farm shop had some incredible food . We spend a nice couple of hours here .

Booked to go to lamb feeding and other activities at the farm. Quite expensive for what it was. There was a huge queue to see small animals and the hay barn which was described as sensory was basically just hay to jump in or throw. Overall it was ok but not worth the money. Found some of the staff to be a bit abrupt. The toilets were very dirty and I doubt they were checked or cleaned throughout the day. Left with a feeling they wanted our money but not us. Wouldn’t go back. There was a funny atmosphere.

Lovely day out with the little one. The farm is well laid out and activities are timed so you can see them all without rushing around.
We managed to get around everywhere with a pushchair - part of this was across a field but it was still ok.
The shops and cafés were really lovely and we really enjoyed our day.
Would go again and do recommend to all with little ones.
Whilst my little one was too young for it, there were 2 very nice looking play parks there as well as a hay barn play area which look great for older babies and children.

Visited the farm- perfect for mums with toddlers with several animals but not much for older kids & looked tired. Make sure u check the times for petting the animals to make most of visit. Highlight was seeing the llamas & rheas. They had a trail but this was just walking round a couple of fields with bad signage. Decent cafe & produce shops outside to visit after.

I have been to the farm on numerous occasions with my grandchildren and it’s amazing. The devoted management maintain an ethos of simplicity with style and quality. They have not been seduced by commercialism as still very much a farm.
The farm is also educational with multi sensory displays, frequently changed, and staff on hand to answer questions. A really excellent place for those home educating.
Really clean and Incredibly cheap. Feed is included. Equisite picnic areas.
The restaurant is reasonable and the food of the highest quality and beautifully served.
Wonderful gift shop with original products and beautifully baskets.
Garden shop amazing and reasonable, much cheaper than garden centres and wonderful quality.

Hello
You are welcome to bring a dog to Middle Farm but must keep them on a lead at all times.
They may walk with you outside the shops and enjoy the courtyard next to the Tearoom. They will not be allowed on the Open Farm.
We look forward to welcoming you to Middle Farm.

I don't recall seeing one but I don't have children so I wouldn't have been looking out for one! There is a 'playbarn' with straw bales in the farm area.

Can you walk on footpaths to this farm or is it accessible by car only?
Written 25 July 2017
I believe there is a path along the edge of the A27 and you can get a train to Glynde and walk to the farm which would take around 45 minutes

The food is all home made, mostly in the kitchen. Simple fare such as pasties, baked potatoes and sandwiches, very tasty too. Children, veggies and the like are catered for, beverages range from tea and coffee to local beers and ciders. Prices are value for money considering the quality of the food.
