The permanent exhibitions relating to local history plus collections from all around the world (god on red indians and Inuits and seaside holiday history!) are really interesting and a bit quirky. In additional there are always art exhibitions running alongside.

Really good local museum with extremely interesting displays of local and national interest. The Durbar room is terrific and they hold some very good temporary exhibitions. Very much worth the walk up the hill.

We attended a civil wedding ceremony hosted in the Durbar Room within the museum. It is a wonderfully romantic setting for such an event and is also very reasonably priced. Strongly recommended.
