The castle is little more than a few ruins and walls. The insterest is mainly in its connections to 1066 and all that. Interesting enough to warrent the small entrance fee.

i took the cliff train up to the castle from the beach and offers great views of the beach and town and i walked back down only a short walk back to the beach and shops

There is a website, it’s called Smugglersadventure. they’re usually open from 10am. Don’t forget to take cash with you as they don’t take card!

There was plenty of people with dogs, so yes you can.
