This is well worth a visit but take a full pocket as you are sure to find something to buy. All styles here. Very funky. Alternative eateries. Quite far from train station and parking is very expensive.

We started, as we always do, behind the hotel at Ship Street and walked through to Brighton Square and out towards the Pavillion. Crossing the main road, we entered the North Lanes with shops ranging from Querky to Strange. There is a shortage of public...More

Diverse mix of shops selling variety of goods / services / food. Ramshackle but that's the style. Popular with the locals and tourists and good place to buy something unusual.

I felt that the vibrant heart of the city was located in those winding little streets. Numerous pubs and restaurants. Just get lost in there and enjoy

The Lanes are unique and fun to explore. Many different shops pubs restaurants and attractions. It's well renowned for its silver and gold dealers. Most shops and restaurants are locally owned and run. You won't see many of the national chains. But those you do...More

Always good for a wander, Brighton's lanes are a delight. You can be who and what you want in this city and the Lanes encapsulate this. Quirky clothing,, great local bookshops, any number of coffee empirical. Worth having a wander and browse. But be warned:...More

Lovely interesting area for shopping/ eating. I recommend more eating and less shopping otherwise you could spend much more than you would like. So many interesting unique shops, we are definitely returning and with our teenagers.

Wander, wander, wander and you'll wonder where the time went. So many interesting little shops you'll get carried away. Okay, you're lost, but no worries, you'll soon spot a main street at the end of a narrow one, with luck. Enjoy. We did.

Some really lovely shops with a wide variety of merchandise. I loved the old narrow cobbled streets. Take plenty of money, there's loads of great stuff but it isn't cheap!

The Lanes is a host of independent traders who open (as you'd imagine) independently. Some of the cafes open earlier for breakfasts but most of the jewellery shops start opening up around 10am
