It is a landmark and is on a cool stone jetty, but utterly irrelevant for the place. Quirky but not interesting, you will see it as you walk along the shingle and it doesn't rate more than that.

This is a bronze artwork entitled 'Afloat', which is a huge doughnut shaped globe. If you look closely you can see the longitude radiating from the central hole with shrunken shapes of the major continents across its surface, adrift like dark shadows. A much photographed...More

Well worthy a walk to see. Love piece of art work, the donut offers a new view of the pier and sea. More importantly a new view of the continent's of the world. The donut has each continent cut out giving a artist perspective.

What a fun spot to be in. Had a few photos done and then looked around, everything you could want is a stones throw from this big rock donut. A must for photos when in brighton

Worth a few minutes if you are passing - unless you are a fan of street sculpture in which case you might stay longer. Not the most graceful of artworks but it fills a hole - or not, as the case may be.
