It was ok. There was some really unacceptable behaviour from teenagers in the changing rooms, with lots of strong swearing. There was no staff presence in the changing rooms, or if there was, they did nothing to protect the other customers from these scallywags and their hullabaloo.

Love this leisure centre! Best in Brighton! Long may it carry on. Great gym equipment, lovely atmosphere. And it's a maritime heritage site where 22,500 men and women did their naval training in World War II when it was commandeered to become a 'land ship'!

The swimming pool is small so you should check with the staff before going. When not crowded, the place is great. And once swim is finished, just go for a relaxed walk on the seafront. Heavenly!

I have been swimming here regularly for nearly two years. However, in my opinIon, cleanliness at King Alfred is an ongoing issue. Drains often clog up in the shower areas leaving standing water and frequently unpleasant smells. The pool is often littered with bits of paper and other debris floating near the bottom -- really off-putting! I keep going because... More

The King Alfred Leisure Centre is a great place to visit on a rainy day if on hols in Brighton and Hove. It's not much to look at on the outside, and the entrance is hidden round the side. But, the pools are clean and not so busy, and well organised so that everyone can have space to do their... More

I come here every week to swim from Worthing to the ladies only session on Wednesdays. I thoroughly enjoy my visit. The lockers are roomy, the changing rooms are clean, the showers are hot, the water is just right, the pool is large enough for a good swim, there are plenty of staff about and I love the light coming... Need to modernise and build again for the community Please remember we need our local pool as everything seems to revolve around losing our history and heritage

I have used the King Alfred since I was a child, in fact I learnt to swim here in the 80s. Not much has changed since then except the removal of the little slide and the mushroom-type thingy you would slide over. Funny thing being you can still see where they used to be from the rusty marks on the... More
