Having been to the Brighton museum in the Pavillion Gardens, one Sunday afternoon I wanted to see this other museum. It was certainly smaller then the other one but very informative indeed. There was a handcrafted sections with kid's stories all made into a like in a third dimension which was nice, and upstairs I found the toy displays, which... More

You won't be disappointed-,children love it and you too will be engrossed in all the objects here. In the end it might be that you have to drag the kids out. Hands on and up close on many museum treasures. Very informative and educational. At the end cross the road and visit the local park, grab an ice cream and... More

a second visit to talk to the artists and to discuss ideas for collaboration. But the museum itself was well worth a second look around, a small but impressive collection of contemporary craft alongside a wonderful toy attic ( although a little more light would be nice) Very saddened to hear that the cafe is closing, seems rather strange to... Interesting museum slightly off the beaten track away from seafront. Lovely building. Interesting displays including children's toys through history. Nice for a rainy afternoon. Small shop and cafe. Friendly staff.

I popped in here to see the current exhibition. Upstairs is the permanent one. It does not take long to explore the museum. The museum is set in a small lovely park. Ideal on a warmer day to visit. There is also a tearoom. I had a scone and the Welsh rabbit which was tasty. The museum is by donation... More

visited in the school holidays with my 7 year old grand daughter. We hadn't realised there was a free craft session going on for children but we booked and she spent a very happy time making things. The museum was interesting too but we were so disappointed with the cafe we went outside and had lunch further up the road.

I stopped here today on the Snow Dog trail. I would say this place is great and learnt a lot about local life and History. Well worth a stop by.

Don't miss a permanent small selection on display of the important Barnes Pre-Cinema and early photography collection on the first floor. Amazing lift. Take the lift rather than the stairs. Ground floor changing exhibitions. Child friendly. Museum closes at 5.00 pm. Tearoom closes at 4.30. Cakes and tea cakes/crumpets for tea. Light lunches. Filter coffee only £1.60 from memory and... I stopped here today on the Snow Dog trail. I've visited often in the past to have a cup of tea in their lovely tea room with their beautiful collection of old teapots. Today was the first time I had looked at the exhibits, although very briefly, and now I intend to return and enjoy it at leisure because what... More
