Worth quick visit

I visited the Museum & Gallery during a weekend away in Brighton. It doesn't take long to see everything here. The Photography exhibition is definitely worth seeing.

We had a spare damp morning and thought we would call In here briefly but ended up spending the best part of three hours. As non members or locals we had to pay to get in but it turned out to be very good value. There are a dozen distinct displays on the ground and then unexpectedly large first floor.... More

We went along to see the Wildlife Photography exhibition. The staff were welcoming and polite. The facilities were very clean. The exhibition was well set out and very interesting. We have been to this museum and art gallery several times over the years and there is always something different to see.

This place is great. So much to see. Egyptians, modern art, fashion through to the history of Brighton part which is my particular favourite. Lots of artefacts as well as works of art. Great for school trips - I've taken classes there for our Egypt topic as well as our Brighton topic. Nice café and little gift shop.

We went to see the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition and were impressed at the low entry price. Had a good look at the other exhibits while we were there and the café was great too.

Many of the exhibits are fascinating, but the selection of exhibits is not cohesive and it was nearly impossible to determine why some exhibits were there. An Egytian exhibit in two separate areas? A sparse exhibit of Northern peoples? Most exhibits are poorly curated and labeled. Nice light-lunch cafe, though.

combining the Great escape music festival with a visit to the museum. The combination of some new up and coming artists and the reverential atmosphere of a museum is a compelling combination not to be missed.

We really enjoyed the visit to the Museum and art gallery, and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition was on, which made it even better. The furniture over the years was particularly interesting.
