Maybe it was me but I was underwhelmed by it all
Jul. 2021
The whole visit was a little underwhelming. I think sculpture may not be "my thing" . I had expected a lot more from this visit.
The staff were all helpful and friendly. The sculptures themselves are quite modernist in their style and set among the various walkways and plants which are all well manicured and tended to

Fantastic Sculpture Walk
Jul. 2021
What an absolutely wonderful place this is! I couldn't believe how many sculptures there were, even though some were not there as they were at an exhibition. It was just absolutely delightful to walk around. My husband and son also enjoyed looking at the various fish in the lakes. There were lots of little seating areas and much needed shade as it was during a heat wave. I would love to return and spend much longer here.

What a beautiful and magical place! 💜
My Friend Sanna introduced me to Sculpture by the lakes and just Wow! I instantly relaxed and the Sculptures were amazing! 😊 I can't wait to go back. We had a lovely lunch where the food is grown on the grounds. I highly recommend the Buddha bowl.

We had a lovely day here, such a beautiful, tranquil place. We were welcomed by lovely informative volunteers. It was well worth the visit! We bought a picnic lunch which although expensive was delicious. The only thing that marred a really lovely day out was the attitude of the two young girls at the cafe, not at all welcoming to the point of rudeness, which was such a shame as everything else was so enjoyable.

Great experience on the lakes

Had a lovey visit to this venue. Well organised and not overcrowded as the number of visitors is controlled. Maintained to a high standard. Sandwiches and Lucy snacks available. Again very good quality and choice. Reasonably priced. Just a great visit

Stopped here ( pre booked) on our way to Lyme Regis. Beautiful. Lots of individual seating areas close to lakes and the lovely river - ideal for a tranquil picnic. Lots of sculptures in wonderful setting.

A great find for a peaceful day.

Sculpture by the Lakes was recommended to me by a friend. We visited there on Friday 16th July and it was fantastic. After booking on line I then read some of the reviews and was slightly apprehensive, however I feel all of the negative remarks were totally unfounded.
On arrival we were shown where to park and at the entrance a very friendly lady explained to us about the walks etc.
The grounds were in great condition, all the walkways were either gravelled or well mown grass and the areas that are left to nature are just as they should be.
My wife and I both fall into the Covid vulnerable category but this was not a problem as there was so much space to either pass or step to one side and let others pass. There was plenty of seating with some beautiful views to have a picnic.
All in all it was a fantastic day in a beautiful place.
Hopefully we will return one day .
Thankyou Sculpture by the Lakes.

Tranquility
Jul. 2021
Four of us visited on holiday from Norfolk. We weren't sure what to expect but were blown away.......we stayed 5 HOURS!!!. Art is a personal thing so we all had favourites but there was something for everyone. It is a beautiful, tranquil place and all the staff were very helpful. We had a coffee / cider and cake at the cafe and compared to many places it is very reasonable and great quality. The art galleries had some very expensive art, and I have no idea how these prices are decided. Each to their own, it costs nothing to look. As it says in one pond....Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.

Very pleasant

Something for everyone in the sculptures, some of which were excellent, and plenty to look at, in a fairly manageable area. Quite commercialised – the shops are extensive and expensive – but if the weather’s good it makes a change from the country houses! Rather expensive entry fee for what is essentially an outdoor art gallery.
