During our weekend in Bournemouth we walked to here twice... Lovely stroll, nice scenery.. and a nice little cafe next to a nice quiet beach. There's even a little car based "train" that you can jump on (for a fee) which will drive you back to the visitors centre. Worth a visit!

A wonderful place to walk and rejuvenate in the off season. Almost no one is there, but for the few people walking their dogs. The final portion of the walk isn't open to cars or bikes, and you are free to go from ocean views to beautiful ponds and magic forests. Wonderful!

I love Alexander Armstrong so I went to hengistbury head and thought about him on one of the rock groynes-imaging him hosting pointless in the clouds above me after listening to his sensual opera album. After this I proceeded to measure the distance and angles of the beach using a clinometer only to stop abruptly seeing an apparition of Alexander... More

We had taken the ferry from Christchurch and loved this area where the beach huts are situated. Beautiful beach looking across to the Isle if Wight. We were going to take the land train but unsure of the timings so just wandered along the sea shore after a stop at the Beach House Cafe.

This is a great walk for a sunny day with cliffs and lots of impressive views but can be abit breezy. There is a vistor centre and you can walk to Mudeford and the beach huts, although there is a land train if you prefer. There is a cafe for a well earned rest that provides does decent food at... I walked about 1 and a half hours across the beach to get to Hengistbury head. My boyfriend studies here in Bournemouth and said it was a nice view to look out whether it be to see the sunrise or sunset. We went midday so I saw neither of the two, but it was still a beautiful view of the... More

What's better than a walk along the ocean? There's a beach, stone age history, beach huts, a ferry, and a nice bluff to look down on it all from.

The walk past the visitor centre (do go in there's so much to see) up over the head and along the beach is really wonderful. Walk back on the harbour side of the beach huts for a completely different vista. There's a great cafe/shop/ice cream seller and clean toilets. Beach is great and today there were kite surfers out to... More
