Nice scenery, plenty of quieter places when it's busy at weekends and holidays. Plus the cafe serves a good range of food and cakes... Parking is hideously expensive though, so if you can, park a mile or so away where it's cheaper...

Visited on a breezy, sunny day. We had hired cycles from the sea front rental centre and cycled there stopping at the cafe for a drink and snack. The cafe was really busy as was the car park, it's a very popular spot! There are toilets there too. Lovely, scenic walk , it did not seem unpleasantly over busy even... More

I grew up a few miles away and this place was always intriguing as a child. On revisiting fifty years later, it really doesn't let down. easy to park, wonderful views, lovely walks and a fascinating history

A return to the place of my childhood. So disappointed that the cafe was not dog friendly and as it was raining Dottie and me were told we could sit under the gritty covered area next to the loo. You could do better - we are used to Dog Friendly west bay

Word of warning - car park is very reasonable off season but from April they charge £2 per hour! We parked a little way away which added half an hour to the walk but as it was a lovely day it was fine. Good views and a lovely walk. Plenty of picnic spots. Can be windy and cold off season... More

We walked around this area for the first time recently. It was a fine Spring day midweek. There was a big car park, not busy then. Excellent views, clear paths with some carved wooden sculptures on the route. There is an excellent Visitor's Centre with information points, an enclosed garden, local artists' work, delicious local ice cream and very helpful... More

Great spot to walk the dog. Unspoiled beach with a great view across to the Isle of Wight. If you want a bracing walk on a Bank Holiday Monday this is the place to go to.
