We took a walk to Hengisbury Head this weekend with a relative from Belgium. Parking is spacious but beware is closes in the evening and the gates are locked, check times. I've been locked in once. There a good visitor centre explaining the area and a nice cafe, Hikers, next door. It's open all year. It's best to walk up... More

Excellent walking for families with kids, with dogs ... You go through fields with cows, birds, ponds, meadows. From the top of the hill you can see The Needles in the Isle of Wight and the other side you see Muderford beach with its colourful lovely posh beach huts. At same time you have a nice view from Christchurch and... More

You can climb to the top and get excellent views of Bournemouth and Christchurch, there is a land train which will take you to the beach at Mudeford, beaches here are wonderful.

We lived in the area for some years and often walked Hengistbury head. A great walk in all conditions and time of the year. The visitors centre is a nice addition but would benefit from corporate investment. Have a walk and enjoy the scenery. I was surprised of the lack of wildlife but maybe I was unlucky

Even in winter Hengistbury Head is a brilliant place for a varied walk. The paths are well made so there is no problem with mud. The views are amazing- first the harbour, then across to the Isle of Wight and finally, a bird's eye view over Bournemouth towards the Alder Hills. The Information Centre is very informative.

Good for hatching eggs, often a spawn for decent Pokemon. Lots of Pokemon gyms. Mmmm, go to the Hiker for a hot chocolate. I've been having hot chocolates there since 2004, they're still 10/10! Even now, with me being 17. I STILL LOVE THEM MMMMMM

Hengistbury provides a terrific variation of outdoor activities in a beautiful location. Though there is a charge for car parking, from there the walks over the Head, along the beach, harbour or road - make for many hours of choice. Its unspoilt with just a hikers cafe and visitor centre and a small "train" for those unable to walk to... More

This is a fabulous place for a lovely family walk. The view from the top is outstanding. Mudeford harbour is particularly stunning.
