About
Classic English wines are produced at Sharpham vineyard as a result of a happy marriage of soil, climate and grape variety known as terroir, and nature has bestowed her gifts freely upon us here at Sharpham. In the winery, we employ both New World and traditional techniques to best develop our unique regional characteristics. Our tally of International Awards confirms our position as one of England's foremost quality wine producers. We invite you to visit, sample, and make up your own minds about our fine English wine.

Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely afternoon. Superb guide (I'm sorry, I don't remember her name) who made the whole event very interesting and entertaining. We tried four wines and cheeses, and walked around the vineyard. The views are stunning. We bought two bottles of surprisingly good pinot noir. Who said English wines aren't good??
We also had a picnic lunch provided by the on-site restaurant (I think it's a different business). If you want their sit-down meal, you need to book first, but we just turned up, bought a picnic and sat overlooking the river. The food cost £10 but was superb. Definitely recommend that as well.

Wine Tasting & Lunch
Jun. 2021
My girlfriend & I came to Sharpham’s vineyard primarily for an unguided wine tasting but thought it rude not to partake in lunch after our tasting which we booked separately. We both really enjoyed the wine tasted & I enjoyed the cheese flight - we ended up buying a few bottles & some cheese to take back with us. On to lunch at their mobile café the Cellar Door– we only wanted a light lunch & ordered a few items from their appetisers & starters – cauliflower bhajis, ham hock terrine, slow roasted chorizo along with some skinny fries. All lovely dishes. This along with the service & beautiful location made for a very nice wine tasting & lunch!

Wine and cheese tasting recommended.
Jun. 2021
Wine and cheese tasting recommended. We really enjoyed sampling the wines and the gentleman who talked us through them was friendly with some interesting information to share, just the right amount. Stocked up on our two favourites - the pinot gris wild ferment and the sparkling pink. Sharpham brie blows all other bries off the menu - it's superb and creamy straight from the fridge if needed. It was lovely that the chap doing the wine tasting took the time to ask how he could best help with my hearing loss. A very genuine place and enjoyable visit. Definitely worth a trip. The restaurant looked superb on this sunny day, we didn't have a booking and wished we had.

Disappointed by covid procedures
May 2021 • Couples
We weren’t able to get a table but that’s our fault for not booking ahead. We walked around the vineyard which was lovely. Tried to go into the shop to buy cheese and wine to take home but was appalled by the lack of social distancing. The shop is small and there were 12 people inside , no distance between them at all. No staff prompting people to be more distanced. I waited in the doorway for 15 minutes for the queue to go down and some people to leave but it was very slow with only one member of staff and so I went back to the car empty handed. Shame because I would have liked to have eaten there and bought some things from the shop.

Excellent wine and cheese
May 2021 • Couples
Friendly staff, very welcoming to us and our dog. We had the wine flight and cheese board, both were excellent and reasonably priced for the quality. Enjoyed a walk round the beautiful vineyards afterwards.

A pleasant day out
Jun. 2021 • Friends
A group of us recently did the wine and cheese tasting tour. We arrived early and have food and wine in the cafe which was delicious and all food that came out looked stunning. Other customers were also enjoying a variety of food and wine. We had a mixture of wine sharing 3 types which were all reasonably priced.
The tour itself was ok and a good length surrounded by beautiful scenery. The tour guide was a pleasant enough guy who knew his stuff. You do get to try 5 small glasses of wine. First a sparkling, then a dry white wine, an orange wine which wasn't for me, a rosè which was lovely and refreshing and finally a red wine with 2 of the cheeses made on site. You can buy from the shop if you want too and I like the fact you aren't forced into buying anything.
If you enjoy white and drier wines then I would recommend this 100%.

Rude and ignorant facist staff
May 2021 • Family
Incredibly rude and ignorant staff. Made to feel very unwelcome and ignored by bar and restaurant staff. Accused of breaking Covid rules when there were no staff to guide us where to sit. Glad we didn’t get as far as ordering any food or drink so we could leave. Will not be going back.
