Est. in 1196, Torre Abbey is a museum of history and art housed in an Ancient Scheduled Monument on the beautiful South Devon coast. Based in Torquay on the English Riviera, this family friendly Torbay Council owned museum and gardens is a centre for creativity and culture with a seasonal programme of exhibitions, events and activities across visual arts, history and live performance. Torre Abbey is well worth a visit - you start at the top floor taking in the history of the Abbey, then coming down the stairs you learn about the owners of the Abbey. Do visit the grounds and glasshouse.
