In a world that is "on its way to hell in an handcart", here is something very reassuring when sitting in the Dolphin drinking my favourite ale, Bass. Each pint is lovingly drawn from stacked barrels by gravity, unadulterated or worse sent through a sparkler,...More

Been vising the Dolphin for many years. Great ales, lovely mixed clientele never seen trouble and no need for door security . Took my wife to this pub on our first date and she is still with me!!

Came down at about five on the Friday before Christmas. Absolutely packed. Impossible to move around inside, predominantly men, many suits. Don’t begrudge the pub the business but it was unusable. We love this place and will be back many times over the holiday.

This is the place to go if you want real ales poured straight from the cask and then a seat in front of the coal fire. I think it may also be the oldest pub on the Barbican

Popped in for a couple after meeting up for lunch with a friend. Great selection of Beers, Ales and Wines and before we realized, it was 6 hours later, attentive staff matched with a cracking atmosphere... Keep up the good work guys and we will...More

We returned to the Barbican after a few years away and first stop was the Dolphin Inn, a regular haunt of mine 40 years ago when I was in the navy. It's still a great little pub and on a Friday afternoon in August the...More

The Pub is well located in near the quay in The Barbican. The interior is quirky with curvy organic shaped pews and brown leather banquettes. On the walls are locally inspired artworks. On a Thursday afternoon / early evening it was pleasantly busy. But not...More

Basically, best pub in Plymouth! Nice and traditional with a massive range of beer to choose from. I could have spent all day and night in there!

They don't, there's just the bar, it's not a private function kind of place, but there are dozens of Plymouth pubs and clubs that will provide a free function room provided you drink their booze.

It seems they have acquired the entire estate of Punch Taverns (wont let me post the link). They stress they're keen to work with and keep the ethos of those pubs they take over. Time will tell.

No they don't. If the cash point on Southside street isn't working, there is another COOP with a cash point on Notte Street. (Head out of the Barbican towards town and take a left). Next nearest that doesn't charge, is... More
