Lovely place for a day out for all abilities. The area is what you expect for a forestry commission area; good facilities, cafe, good routes, good biking, well managed woodland etc There is a rare butterfly area and a bird of prey viewing area. There are multiple options for walking/biking routes through the woods and all are reasonably well managed... More

Always enjoy visiting here, and always so quiet - minutes fro Exeter but so peaceful and tranquil. Worth visiting if passing by..

Wonderful walk for the kids which was just enough. It was noce that there are stopping points around the route. I was disappointed in the food quality and price however. Also toilets were dirty and freezing cold. Would have been nice not to have a frozen bottom!

I fully support anything that distracts the kids from realising they are being active ( and my kids aren't lazy!). It's a great concept done well, download the app before you go. The only negative is this is aimed at young kids ( my 9 year old still loved it) so should be separate from the bike trails. We visited... More

We hired some bikes and did the trails, my daughter and I did the two easier ones, my husband the dark blue one. We enjoyed our day spending all day there and ate in the cafe.

We had heard lots of people in our friend group talking about the Gruffalo trail in Haldon Forest so decided to check it out. It started off promising with a lovely stick man carving at the begining but ended up being a bit of a let down. Along the discovery trail we expected to see more wooden carvings of the... More

You know what, this is a great place to go to. There are a few places like this in the U.K. that just get it right. Much like The Lookout in Bracknell, they have used a similar strategy to a ski resort, marking out routes by difficulty, which really helps with kids. We tried the blue trail, which was just... Now here is a place the children can let off steam, it is good for dog's and brilliant for that bit of exercise you don't get all week. Fresh air, the smell of he trees, and plants and maybe if your lucky like us last Sunday you will see some deer, and a fox?

Great park with loads of things to do- walking trails, cycling trails, Segway trips etc. We did the Gruffalo trail with our toddler- she loved it. Paths on this trail are pushchair friendly. All was well laid out & signposted. Toilet facilities were clean. Cafe food & coffee good. Would have been 5 stars from us if the parking wasn't... More
