Somewhere between Heritage and Pragmatism, it is a moving feast for the eye. Loved the signage and the closeness of the buildings and commercial/residential life. Loved the ferries.

We enjoyed walking along the promenade & looking at all the different boats in the harbour. This appears to be well-used & there are ferries to plenty of nearby places.

Always lots to see at this busy harbour - the ferrys coming and going, boats heading up the estuary from the sea and children crabbing. Delightful views across to Kingwsear with the whistle of the steam trains drifting across the water. Great pubs and restaurants...More

Dartmouth is just beautiful! We were very fortunate with the weather which was like a summers day. We enjoyed a picnic over looking the harbour, watching the boats and spoilt by a Royal Navy helicopter fly by which was a real treat.

Visiting in October late in the afternoon, we found a place to park near the ferry, and it was free! We've been to Dartmouth a few times but the views across the water and all the boats are still amazing. One summer we took a...More

We love the harbour area here. So do lots of others so very crowded even on a blustery October day. Lots of things going on on the water so plenty to watch. This must be one of the most beautiful harbours in the world

This is our second visit to Devon and we had to come back to Dartmouth as it is my most favourite place in Devon, to date at least. The harbour is absolutely stunning, clean and well kept. It is a real pleasure to spend time...More

There is a wide, concrete harbour walk along to the small car ferry where you can watch, in safety, the activities of the ferryboats. There are many very interesting houses and other buildings set back all with wide ranging ages and architectural features.

As with neighboring Brixham, Dartmouth has a stunning waterfront and harbour. There's history and so many gift and craft shops, bars, cafes and restaurants to keep visitors happy and on a warm sunny day, Dartmouth really comes to life! It's a real joy to walk...More

We had a general walk around the harbour while visiting the town. The gardens round the harbour looked neat and tidy and there was no litter. There were plenty of seats about so you could rest and watch the world go on.

Hi, I went as part of a day trip, I bought the ticket at Paignton Railway Station which included the steam train, foot ferry + Dartmouth River Cruise. Kingswear station may be able to help you.
