We've been to many gardens in Cornwall but had somehow never got round to this one until this holiday. What a wonderful place it turned out to be - quite magical - it was truly lovely. Our son (who has Autism) is a bit of an expert on tropical plants and was overjoyed to see the 'Jelly Palm' which apparently... More

The approach to the garden along a lovely floral drive leads you to a neat car park and a very pleasant reception building. The staff are so helpful - but what is really special is the guided walk map you are given with the gardener's monthly notes. The route is wonderful as it systematically leads you to every corner of... More

Visited at the end of February yet there was much to see. The large dell containing tree ferns is very special, quite haunting. Lots of camellias, rhododendrons. Following the numbered map is advisable otherwise you will miss areas. And there was a friendly welcome in the café. The entry cost was better than most comparably sized gardens.

Visited for the first time this year despite the fact it is only 5 minutes from where we live. So impressed with the relaxed quiet atmosphere around the gardens and the wide variety of plants/trees that thrive in this idyllic location. Café also produces good food even if the menu is a bit limited.

Stopped during a wet and windy day and managed a look round between the storms. Very pleasant time, interesting history and well tended. We stopped for lunch with what seemed a very ordinary menu but the food was far from ordinary, well presented, very tasty and well presented with lots of choice even if the descriptions didn't convey that.

We visited Trewidden Garden, just two miles west of Penzance. The gardens were established by the Bolitho family in the 19th century and they still own the gardens today. On arrival, we were given a map by a very pleasant lady, who told us they recommend a route for visitors with numbered signposts (1 to 30) which we found quite... More

Amazing cream tea, both savoury and sweet options were delicious. I would recommend the spicy red onion and tomato chutney with cream cheese. Very friendly and great service by the young man, welcoming and informative. Would definitely return!

What an amazing garden! It's so natural it's like being in the wild. You follow the trail round which is numbered so you see certain things, and you don't get lost! I really want to return in spring when all the plants would be in flower, camellias, azaleas etc. Peanuts to get in, free parking and great staff who really... More

We went to Trewidden at the wrong time of year. All of the flowering shrubs and trees had finished and we were looking at the more unusual trees and landscape. The route and signage was good but didn't quite have the appeal of more sculptured gardens. This is quite wild and unkept but no doubt has a charm.
