Almost a hidden gem of a beach. Beach is very clean and when the tide is out you can walk into Newquay avoiding the high street. Decent surf for body boarders and surfers. A nice cafe at the entrance for a beer and some food.

When the tide permits, a very long expanse of lovely clean open beach to walk along. Ideal for avoiding town!

Great Western Beach is less busy than both Fistral & Towan Beach, Newquays most popular beach strips. The reason for that is easy to see: There are basically no amenities here. No pub, no bar, no restaurant. Just a broad and deep strip of sandy...More

Big beach when the tide is out. Joins on with Towan Beach. Lovely clean beach and just been given the blue flag award 2018. Just of the local town so plenty to do around the beach and grab some food.

Hi - we think this review is for the Great Western Hotel, not the Great Western beach. We do have a restaurant & bar located down on the beach called The Slope Beach Bar + Kitchen at the bottom of the path

Hi Yvette, Yes, we have The Slope Beach Bar + Kitchen for meals and drinks plus SandBox for drinks, snacks, and ice-creams. You can hire deckchairs from Newquay Surfing School, also based on the beach.
