What a beautiful clock this is, slap bang in the centre often. it is on a bridge, and under it, you can look down on all the people going about their business in the street below.

We used the Eastgate Clock as a starting point for our circumnavigation of the walls. The Clock itself is in excellent condition and was very popular with the visitors we saw, for photo opportunities, also provided good views of Eastgate Street & Foregate Street.

We saw the clock from the street and it looked lovely. However, we got a much closer look when we walked the city walls. Really stunning piece of architecture.

An example of wonderful Victorian engineering celebrating Queen Victorias Jubilee.. You can use this as a starting point to walk the city walls however I like to start away from here and approach it from the wall. The main shopping areas are below the shops.

Probably the first thing you notice as you walk down this road. It's an amazing clock tower to celebrate Queen Victorias 60 year reign. Just lovely.

The clock mechanism was replaced after a full upgrading of the clock was completed in October 2015. It is beautiful and admired by many thousands of tourists and of course we who live in Chester!
