We walked all the way around but a good part of the wall is not very exciting .Also its not very accessible for anyone who cant manage steps. The good bit is that you get to see chester from above.

Really enjoyable hour spent doing the full lap. Some of it is under repair at present, but don't let that put you off. Our 8 and 10 yr old also enjoyed it!

We enjoyed walking around the walls of Chester from which you could see many highlights including the Cathedral. Roman gardens, the river & the weir, the famous clock & the Tudor high street. We would recommend this walk.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The wall is free and open at all times. No guided tour but plaques explaining local sights and information at various points along the wall. The castle keep is free to to look around.

Loads of car parks in the centre, Grosvenor Hotel car park entrance - 1 mins to walls. Law Courts / river area car parks - 1 mins to wall. Race course / Market area car parks (lots of them) - 1 mins to walks - hope this helps
