Wall Walk

Did not walk the whole wall just near the Cathedral. The steps can be quite awkward for "disabled" people. Some very good views.

On our day out in Chester this was one of the highlights of our day . The views and the information provided along the wall makes this well worth the walk plus the weather was perfect .

I did not expect to visit such a excellent monument. I walked there and I admired the view of the city, the river and the others monuments. I recommend it and I hope to go again.

Nice easy strolling along the walls. Enjoy it a few times a year as not very distant from home. Some interest throughout and decent sights. Coffee stops along the way or always close by. If in Chester a must as is the Cathedral.

Every time I visit Chester I take a walk around the walls. I never get bored of them, there is so much to see. If you start from the Roodee car park, head in either direction - whichever way you decide, it will be a good choice. If you go left, the wall is less visible but you get a... More

On a cold and windy day there was no better way to warm up than walk along the city walls. They can be accessed and exited at many points along the way and at a leisurely pace an dtaking in views and reading information boards takes about an hour or so. It is an incredible way to view Chester and... More

We have visited Chester a number of times but this is the first time we have walked the walls. Lots of lovely photo opportunities even in January!

In my opinion walking the walls is a great way to see the city from a low flying birds perspective. The walls pass by all the main historical sites and thanks to local business Big Heritage the towers have been opened with small exhibitions inside this year. Sadly the bookshops along the top have all but gone, but hopefully will... More
