The romantic gothic Castle - a product of the early 19th century - stands on a high rise above a lake. The Castle is surrounded by sweeping lawns and a variety of mature trees, including Cedars of Lebanon, Oak, and Chestnut. The gardens surrounding the Castle provide a lovely mix of colour and height, with intriguing walks around the lake. There is a Temple Water Garden, Rose Garden, a variety of mixed borders. Plantings are planned to provide colour at all times of the year.

I have long since ceased going to the Pageant of Power in June, but thought this sounded good. As a long time rally enthusiast, the sound of a group B Audi, on maximum chat was too good to miss. I duly paid my £45.50 on...More

WRC RALLY STAGE Having been to previous cpop events, we were expecting great things.........this event was so badly organised. Gate 1 signage to start with was difficult to find, but we knew the way from previous visits. Inside the main event everything was bunched up...More

Went primarily for mini mudder and tough mudder, lovely gardens which was in all honesty the only part we saw. The view of the castle was lovely but really we were there to watch crazy people do ridiculous obstacles. Good parking and easy to find

Lovely visit. Interesting and well maintained gardens. Would definitely visit again. Only downside is that there was a 35 minute wait to get served at the café and then an additional wait for our food. Next time I will take a picnic.

An outstanding garden and one we've meant to visit for years. So pleased we finally got there. There is a lot of transitional work going on at the moment after the death of Lavinia last year, the new plans should make it even more stunning....More

Early Spring to see the beautiful bulbs late spring for the rhododendrons, summer for glorious flowers and autumn for the vivid colours of trees.
