The Tourist Centre occupies the front part of the house. After reluctantly paying the entrance fee to Olivers' House the tour began. A short film gave an historical perspective of life in the 1600s. We then toured the house with the aid of audio guides...More

The TIC is situated here, but you can pay a modest charge to see Cromwell's home. The rooms are well presented, and give a lot of information about this historical figure and his times. It was interesting to see something of the private man rather...More

Came with family to take part in the escape rooms. The character was a scary tall man, fun though (and friendly when out of character). Well organised and good family fun.

Neither I nor a friend realized it was anything more that a tourist center/souvenir shop. The heat may have gotten to me, but even after conversing with the cashier I did not know it was anything more than nothing.

Visited this famous man's house which involves a self guided tour round the house. You hear about Cromwell's life, his efforts in the war and his life in Parliament. The team running the attraction ask visitors to decide if he was a hero or villain...More

We are glad you enjoyed our poll which as you say is very popular and usually always comes out in favour of Cromwell being a hero!

I must admit to not being aware that Oliver Cromwell's house was in Ely until looking up other places to visit when here looking at the Cathedral. Although a relatively small house, don't let that put you off of a fascinating landmark of English history....More

Inevitably pro Cromwell. It tended to gloss over his bloodthirsty history however it gave me some more insight

Sorry for the late reply... You'd be fine with the downstairs of the house as far as I can remember, but I'm pretty sure there was no wheelchair access to the upper area... Probably best if you contact them to make sure... More
