The Prince Albert is a often referred to as Ely's 'Proper Pub'. Expect to find 6 cask ales served, all kept very well, 3 of which are rotated on a monthly basis. The pub has had a recent refurbishment but has retained its traditional charm. It has also started offering good quality, freshly prepared food at lunch times from Monday to Saturday and in the evening from Monday to Friday. If you are looking for a comfortable, traditional and friendly pub that serves good beer and good quality food then visit the Prince Albert.

Visited for a late lunch. There were a few other customers but the restaurant was far from busy. The food was good, particularly the crispy whitebait, a good leek and pea risotto and a veggie deconstructed lasagne. Puddings were good too, a nice pannacotta and a good winter berry pud. A ginger brownie served with rhubarb icecream was not deemed... More

Had lunch here last Sunday, even though we hadn't booked, we were warmly welcomed, but politely told they would need the table back in an hour which was fine, all the staff were very friendly, the butternut squash & chilli soup was very good, & both the roast lamb & pork were excellent.. We will definately go back, but will... More

Sunday lunch with friends. Very slow drinks service from our table - both initial order and refills. Very rare meat, which I don't mind too much (though there was no choice offered) but tasteless. Good veg apart from tasteless potatoes. Expensive in relation to the quality. Friendly service. Table water offered which is good. Wouldn't rush back.

Popped in here for a beer and was surprised to find that there was a beer festival on. Good service, beer and ambience. A real gem in a backwater of Ely. Ticks all the boxes in every way for a traditional pub in modern times.

Lovely setting, with a nice garden area out the back. There's a pub and restaurant seating area and it's a popular place. The food is good and reasonably priced - thought has been put into the presentation and there's an interesting selection of dishes. Started with the king scallops with parmesan tuilles - the latter overpowered the flavour of the... More

Nice place to pop into to get out of the rain and sample an ale or two. The establishment is very handy to Ely Cathedral and we had relaxing pint whilst waiting for the weather to clear up. Pleasant bar staff and helpful with directions too!

Lunch was delicious! Short menu (always a sigh of good food) but with a good range of choice. Friendly, professional service. Drinks a bit slow to come perhaps, but that is being picky. Will return.

My friend and I called in for lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We opted for the special two course and both had a very nice soup with delicious bread and plenty of butter. The main was plaice and prawns and the taste was lovely together with a salad and salad potatoes......expertly prepared. Whilst we sat in the bar which... More
