We have three primary spaces in which we run our programmes: J1 is a large versatile performance and social space with a standing capacity of 850; J2 is a 220 seat theatre; and J3 is a light-filled multipurpose space excellent for learning, rehearsal and talks. Cambridge Junction is a social enterprise, earning over 50% of its income through events and activities which is reinvested back into the business and its social mission. "With an excellent booking policy, good facilities and friendly staff, Cambridge Junction is certainly a jewel in the east of England's crown." - The Guardian "Cambridge Junction has real knack for supporting up-and-coming talent" - Cambridge News

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw Hybrid Minds at the Junction. Was very disappointed by the sound; I couldn’t feel much ‘bass’, and it sounded very distorted. This, unfortunately, drowned out most of the higher pitched notes, so I could barely hear the lyrics. Was also disappointed by the volume - could have a normal volume conversation on the dance floor.
Am hesitant to buy any future tickets for drum and bass artists at the junction.

Hi billu956,
We're sorry to hear that you didn't have the best time at Cambridge Junction. On occassions external sound and lighting technicians are used for events, which means our regular crew don't have control over the production.
We often put on DnB nights on, so hope you give us another try and see you soon.

Due to train strike announced for 1st September 2023, I am now unable to go to see the show I booked.
Understanding there is a no refund policy when booking, on this occasion, due to train strike which is not down to me, I asked for a refund only to be told no. My choice was, if they can re-sell my tickets I would get a credit note to use during next 2 years. I was only visiting due to the artist that was appearing. I live in the south of the country and therefore Cambridge is not on my doorstep and doubt I will be visiting again.
I feel disappointed and let down, will be losing money through no fault of my own. Thanks.

Had booked tickets to the recent Le Vend Du Nord gig...the gig was excellent as always. I had a small suitcase with me as was coming straight ftom station and theres no left luggage at theatre 2 (J2) so the reception staff helpfully offered to store it for me for the duration of the gig.
The Junction gets a great selection of top quality bands covering a wide range of genres. The left luggage at theatre 1 (J1) is handy and the staff always friendly and helpful. The venue is always careful with cleanliness and Covid rules with information on this and stage times distributed in advance.
Thanks guys, its a great place!

Come here to see Carl Barat on his new revive tour.
Covid measures in place: covid pass needed at door and checked by security, face masks to be worn inside when not eating and drinking.
This was at J2.
Security was friendly and having a laugh with us.
Bar was very quick and easy to get to as it was a small venue.
Layout in venue good, sound good. Great intimate gig

Went to see Sleeper supported by The Lottery Winners. The Junction is a place I have visited on many occasions since the early 90's.
The whole place is run to a high standard, from ticketing to the friendly welcome you get from the staff. Bar prices are reasonable and not a rip off.
This is a gem of a place in Cambridge and long may it continue.

I understand the Junction doesn't have much space to play around with but that being said with the amount of people the more popular acts/shows get it gets very crowded, very hot and very sweaty. You can sometimes just feel a slight breeze from the air conditioning but it is like an asthmatic breathing at you through a straw.
I have visited 4 times over the last few years, when it isn't crowded it is actually very enjoyable with a decent music quality. If it is packed you tend to get pushed around a LOT (more than other 'clubs' I have experienced, I should say, the Junction isn't a club but I am using that as a comparison as it is similar).

Great New Model Army concert in Dec-19. To be fair, any concert involving these guys is fantastic, as is the audience. This venue was extra-nice though.
(1)Sound system was really nicely balanced, and layout nice and open for the audience.
(2) the really special thing was that this is a heavy rock / punk band, and not only were we able to bring our 10 year-old daughter with us, (she loves NMA), but also the audience were so lovely about her being there, and it ended up as a really magical evening for all of us !!! THANK YOU CAMBRIDGE JUNCTION, and THANK YOU NEW MODEL ARMY !!!

Still in shock and disappointed at the incident that occurred last night during Benjamin Francis Leftwich gig. A concert which I've waited for 3 years and travelled the distance just to watch him live. I was there to have a good time, and that's exactly what I had until this happened: The concert manager who made the call to escort me out of the gig in Cambridge Junction clearly didn't had any ability to understand what was truly happening. I wasn't signalled or given any warning to keep it down but was made very clear by a lady worker to leave for interrupting the show. Me and my friends looked at each other and I asked her 3 times, "Me"?. She was just acting upon the orders of her manager and I followed her out to avoid causing any attention. I personally do not like the attention and do not need to draw any attention to myself, and as a fan, showing courtesy to the artist is something I hold truly upon and definitely did not do anything that would negate the ability for others to enjoy the event. It was just mere whispers to my friend to remind him to be quiet, not even close to talking over the 'noise of the music'. Can all the concert-goers around me be wrong? What annoyed me is that I requested to see the Manager to clarify the situation but he refused to come out to explain the situation - no sense of professionalism. The workers were very polite and apologetic and even though they refunded my tickets for the concert, it was still an embarrassment and the wasted efforts and I just wish this incident could have been handled differently.

What can you say... good location for food and a hotel just a spit away, multi storey parking at reasonable rates (particularly if you stay in the Travelodge), friendly efficient staff, good well stocked Bar but most importantly fantastic acoustics, highly recommended venue, will return without a doubt.

Fantastic venue always a pleasure! We went to see For The Hornets last Friday (who were fantastic). Box office was great and queue was dealt with efficiently. The sound was EPIC. The bar was quick, slightly over priced but no more than you’d expect in a decent venue. Great friendly stewards & staff, highly recommended.
