Closed for refurbishment for 3 years(!) - see their website for details. Until it closed, it was great with a huge variety of interesting exhibits.

This is certainly a hidden gem, poorly signposted and tucked away through an archway bet well worth seeking out. Huge range of exhibits, beautifully presented. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Fascinating exhibits. Darwin collection of beetles. Many reconstructed skeletons. Many examples of taxidermy Spacious café above the museum with good views. Massive skeleton of a sloth and mammoth.

This attraction was recently reopened and covered different themes in the animal kingdom. From extinct giant Mammoth to other forgotten non-vertebrae were beautifully displayed. It's small but enriching as you go take in the formation. The children loved the food at the Whale restaurant!

Our 9 year old was fascinated! The museum is free to enter and a great way to spend a few hours. Fascinating exhibits - all very accessible - helpful volunteers who are happy to explain things. Cafe is lovely. It’s a must-see.

They have kept the the best specimens from the past but added new graphics and explanations. It’s more airy and open, do even better to visit than before.

The museum re-opened this year having been extensively modernised, and has a fantastic collection of huge skeletons as well as preserved examples of all kinds of smaller species in various forms, so whatever your interests, you can't help but be entertained, educated and amazed. Whales,...More
