Founded in the early 1900s, we are Cambridge's oldest and friendliest punting company.

We founded pleasure punting in Cambridge and have hired boats along the famous College Backs and on the scenic route towards Grantchester village for over 100 years.

As the first company in Cambridge to offer chauffeured tours of the College Backs, our VisitEngland award-winning services include both our boat hire and our College Backs Tour.

Discover how the city has evolved from medieval market town to world-class centre for education whilst enjoying spectacular views from the river - the ideal introduction to the city's inspiring history.

There is no better way to see Cambridge and hear all about the student rivalries and pranks that have taken place over the years, learn about Prince Charles and his bodyguard, the mathematical bridge and many other stories. Gliding along on a punt under the expert guidance is the way to do it. Trying to maneuver the punt by yourself... More

I went with my two children on a guided punting tour. The boat took 12 people and we were from all over the world. Guide was very knowledgeable and told the history in a very captivating way; even my 5 year old learnt some history! Other interesting facts were slotted into the story telling. It was quite busy on the... More

The four of us had an excellent hour punting in a boat with random people on a very busy sunny sunday afternoon. We were given a discount as we had to wait for about an hour as they were so busy but this suited us. Charles was our punter, he was excellent in every way, funny, polite, friendly and very... More

The guides/punters look really good in their uniforms, and have interesting stories to tell - also no fear of falling in when your on a guided tour, the river is getting busier now though I imagine it will be crazy in the summer!

Headed to the quayside, knowing we wanted to go punting later on in the day, just to get our bearings. Lovely girl asked us whether we are interested in punting and gave us a good deal, £16.50 each. Booked onto the next available tour, which was in 10 minutes time - super. Our tour guide Steve was great from start... More

Wonderful trip. Some excellent information and some comical facts on the way. Charlie was wonderful Have to say though nearly didn't go as both women one of Asian and another of Scandinavian origin were very unhelpful and very very rude. I'm not sure if they had any teeth as they didn't smile once. Yes thanks we enjoyed our trip and... More

We visited with a voucher purchased 6 months previous (at a cost of £3 cheaper each person) - the price on offer at present is £19pp. We boarded with around 10 other people and were guided gracefully along the river Cam. Our guide was very professional, smartly dressed and confident with his informative talk throughout. The river was extremely busy... More

We live in Cambridge and hired a punt to 90 mins from the Quayside as we have on many occasions. We paid and were helped on board. 6 adults and a 2 year old. We punted happily up towards the Mill. All of a sudden we were shouted at loudly and aggressively across the river by one of the employees... More

Well done to our tour guide, Martin. Especially as it was a cold evening & we were his last customers. He made us feel very welcome. The tour was lovely and very informative about all the different colleges. Very recommended
