I really enjoyed walking through the layers of gardens at Christ's. I also went into the library, which had an exhibition on paranormal things at the time--witches, faeries, monsters, ghosts, etc. I happened to be there when the curator was giving a short talk, so...More

Great stroll through here. Free! The garden was so lovely, I sat and had lunch and some needed time with God. I chatted with the knowledgeable Gardner also. There were chairs placed about to sit and benches along the path. The chapel was beautiful.

For our kids it was amazing to discover what an "English college" looks like. The chapel is really nice and peaceful. Free entry.

Simple but clean room, every day you can get new towels, soap etc. is supplemented. Breakfast in the old hall was a party. A visit to the library, only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, is very nice. And the people who worked in the porter's...More

On seeing the pictures the thought of staying at a Cambridge college seems different, and so it was, basically staying in out of term student accommodation. The price at £97 seemed good value in the city centre but there is reason for that, No TV...More

Though the college is beautiful, the rooms they rent out are in a hideous building called the "typewriter" hidden in the back. The concrete monstrosity was built by some sadistic architect and looks like a mash up of a Mayan Temple and the Cabinet of...More

Sir Denys Lasdun built the "typewriter" building in the landscape form of a cruise liner. His brutalist approach to architecture quite often divides opinion. You are correct we have no lifts and that the rooms are set at the back of the College. Most enjoy...More
