I visited here yesterday whilst in Cambridge, a must to do if you are in Cambridge. Lots to see here art, Egyptian artefacts, Roman. We spend a good few hours browsing the displays here and would highly recommend it and its free entry.
As little ones history topic is the Egyptians, we decided to head to Cambridge as it has lots of museums connected to the universities, Fitzwilliam has a fantastic section, the museum has lots of discovery activities for children in each department.

Had a fantastic day- excellent tour and talk run by the Education Department, Felicity was brilliant and the children were amazed at her knowledge! Nathan was so kind when some of the children struggled with their painting on papyrus!

A fantastic museum, with free entry, but donations welcomed. It has a fantastic art collection, including Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites and Dutch Golden Age masterpieces. Friendly, helpful staff and a nice cafe. Very well worth a visit.
We visited the museum on a Saturday. The staff were v helpful. It was not particularly busy. However, we came away dissatisfied with the exhibits. Little seemed to be from the last 200 years - where our interest is more directed.

A lovely museum with well-laid out exhibits and some top-quality paintings.
Furthermore, it's a manageable size - you can cover the whole museum in half a day without feeling exhausted.

it was quite a packet of surpise. Loaded with art from France, Italy and I even spotted well preserved pieces from my country India. There is a Virginia Woolf exhibition going on which is very good. Keeo enough time and explore it.Don't miss it .
