Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Now a much larger and developed area - with fields stretching to reach Trumpington Meadows settlement and further man-made lakes - Byron’s Pool is a nature reserve ideal for year-round walks. Named after Lord Byron who formally swam here, the woodland area is perfect for dogs who are allowed off-lead to roam. The ‘newer’ land is set away from the trees and backs on to the new build developments. The M11 can be seen in the distance but is far enough away not to worry about proximity. We’ve enjoyed many walks here and have thoroughly enjoyed walking and meeting dogs. There are small piers facing the weir and a small car park area off of Grantchester Road, but can get busy during sunnier and warmer months.

A superb place for a walk. I went with my daughter and our dog for a leisurely stroll by the river. We all enjoyed the trip. The woods are very peaceful and quiet.

There is a small car park off Granchester road which usually has spaces.

I am sure we did not explore the whole area but the bit we found was nice. We followed the brown road signs and found ourselves in a new housing estate. In it you'll find a bit of free parking and then you can walk across to the meadows. Some seats dotted around the pools etc. It's a bit of peace away from the hustle and bustle.

It is all level so you could push a wheelchair around. We did not see any toilet facilities but then we did not use the official car park.

Although quite a nice short walk through woods the noise of the M11 was very intrusive. Byron’s pool itself was very disappointing given the amount of concrete and metal barriers. The place sounds a lot more romantic than actual reality. Much better to walk along the river Cam towards Cambridge from Granchester

We spent a very pleasant morning, walking quietly in the woodland and meadows, saying hello to a few dog-walkers and others. We saw ducks and moorhens, a kingfisher, lots of dragonflies and demoiselles.

Byrons pool is a nature reserve and wooded walk along the river Cam located off the road from Trumpington to Granchester. Its name comes from the "fact" that Byron used to swim there.

It is a pleasant walk, and it now backs onto the Trumpington Meadows nature reserve, which is mainly wild grass and shrubs. It is a pleasant and cool place to while away an hour or so.

There is a small car park and some picnic tables too.

A beautiful nature reserve. Shame that fishing is allowed as its not pleasant for fish. Can get muddy so bring boots.
