In a fantastic waterside location at the heart of Bristol's harbourside, Arnolfini is one of Europe's leading centres for the contemporary arts, presenting innovative, experimental work in the visual arts, performance, dance, film, music and events, accompanied by a programme of educational activities. Sitting on the quayside with a drink on a summer evening is a quintessentially Bristol experience. Arnolfini's cafe bar serves a menu of fresh, locally sourced food and fairtrade tea and coffee.

The gallery is in a nice building and some of the art was interesting. However, many of the exhibits were either pretentious or uninteresting or both. The book shop and cafe were nice and the exhibition space is great.

Great location for an evolving arts centre. Recently re-modelled, it has challenging exhibitions pushing the boundaries of modern art, as well as a lively bar/restaurant, bookshop and cinema.More

For a gallery that's so recommended and praised I was very disappointed. Some of the exhibits were videos ( a much loved media by contemporary artists) and merely looked like a short documentary. Others were very esoteric and, as much of contemporary art does, tended...More

Been here lots of times and it just gets worse and worse. The "art" if you can call it that is just a totally waste of time with nothing to say for itself. There is so much beautiful art out there why oh why waste...More

Odd exhibition which didn't really seem to say anything. Indeed a friend commented that he thought the words and pictures were just random computer generated stuff rather than from an artist. Entry was free (a suggested donation) so at least it didn't cost us very...More

Basim Magdy audio visual exhibition might be appreciated if you are a communist anarchist but for the rest if us it was a load of twaddle. Certainly not 'art'. The cognsenti might say 'it makes you think'. Makes you think of lunch maybe!

An excellent exhibition space - with some superb work to boot. Saw the exhibition by Basin Magdi. Though provoking. Edgy. Memorable art. Well done for bringing it here, Arnolfini!
