The railway is not very long but enjoyable all the same. The locomotives and rolling stock are all restored to a high standard and the staff are very friendly. A great destination for a family visit.

Check out the train station and then head off for a walk or ride. The walk is more enjoyable if you don't get run over by the cyclists. I would suggest a sunny day.

The fact this is run by volunteers is a credit to them. But I have to say I was somewhat disappointed by what turned out to be a "diesel day" and the price is not cheap for a 6 mile ride. Fortunately, I travelled only...More

My comments are tempered by the fact that this is volunteer run. The train ride is quite short in rather shabby (although clean) coaches, with not an enormous amount to see. I had been planning to go on a boat that was operating in conjunction...More
