I love visiting the SS Great Britain. I think I might have been in Bristol to watch her return to Bristol in 1970 when I was a kid, but I might just be remembering what I saw on television that evening. The story is so fantastic that you have to visit her (I have been to the Falkland Islands and... More

I recently visited this museum and would highly recommend it. Well done! Interesting, inviting and rich history. The scents...both good and bad....really added a new touch to a museum visit. Very interesting!

Enjoyed an informative visit here - we spent about 3 hours as were aware of the impending closing time, but could have spent longer. Very friendly and helpful staff. Audio guide included which was great, though mine seemed to have a bit of a life of its own and started automatically playing things from time to time! An incredible story... More

Very interesting tour of the ship which has been beautifully restored. The shop has a brilliant choice of books relating to Brunel's achievements. It is nice to take the ferry from the north side of the harbour

Visited towards end of November and enjoyed an excellent, informative and evocative couple of hours around the SS Great Britain. The combination of the ship, museum and dry dock gives a good insight into the life and times of a previous era. You don't need to be a particular expert or historical "geek" to be able to spend a very... More

I last came here in about 1976, just a few years after the SS Great Britain was shipped back from the Falkland Islands. Then, it was little more than an empty hulk, but now they have completely recreated the interior, and put in a very novel underwater dry dock. Very interesting afternoon out, and the exhibits were really brought to... More

Not being very interested in this kind of attraction I was presently suprised at how interesting this attraction was. Also it was nice that areas were not all roped off and you could walk around freely. Would thoroughly recommend.

So much to see and do - and very immersive. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip with nieces and nephews. We'll be going back.

What a superb attraction! A stunning interactive museum and exhibition, showing the SS Great Britain in all her glory. Access to all areas - step back in time with the sight, sound and smell (yes, smell) of life on board a steam ship in the 1850's.
