Very colourful, with a lot of colourful butterflies and information. Pink flamingos and iguanas are interesting to see. It is a one room exhibit, so is small. Very warm inside so dress cool. It is expensive for a one time visit, but if you are a local the annual pass would be the way to go.

My wife and I spent a couple of hours at the butterfly gardens. I think she enjoyed her visit, but I really loved the visit. Where else do you get the opportunity to photograph hundreds of gorgeous butterflies in a captive yet somewhat natural environment. If you are a butterfly lover, don't miss this. It is very close to the... More

We were hesitant to visits bein so late in the season. We were shocked to discover that even in October there are >3000 butterflies calling this home. Watch for flying parrots as well as a resident parrot who looooves ladies! Leave the coat in the car or you will significantly regret it! Although a small building, it is full of... More

We were very excited about coming to this attraction. In fact, after not wanting to rush our experience at Butchart Gardens the day before, we decided to drive back out to the Butterfly Gardens (pretty close, logistically, to each other, but a ways out of downtown Victoria). Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. There were some interesting butterflies, but we decided that... More

This is a fairly small exhibit that has quite a few butterflies as well as tropical plants. They have a few other animals also - all rescued. They have a pair of whistling ducks - they don't quack! They also have flamingos, turtles, a macaw and quite a collection of coy. But beware, it's like a sauna in there and... More

I think I would be getting my money's worth just by going through the entrance into the garden where the moist, sweet, warm air takes one instantly into the tropics. This is an easy attraction to navigate and one can get one's fill in about an hour. The nice part about the entrance fee is that you can come and... More

This place is just minutes from Butchart Gardens, and I knew we'd be stopping afterwards. My wife loves butterflies and I figured what the heck. We were told when we got there to be aware of the "heat" and "humidity" when we went into the butterfly "room". Being from Texas, I was like sure...no problem. After walking around for about... The garden area is teeming with life. All of the butterflies are beautiful and well maintained. The area was a great walk with plenty to see.

I even made a friend there. A beautiful green parrot. The plants, trees and beautiful assortment of birds and animals makes this a great place to visit.
