Canada and USA share vast lakes, mountains, borders and nowhere captures the peaceful spirit than the Waterton Peace Park. Must See.

It is an 8 mile hike with not much elevation gain along the shore of the lake. You are lead by a Ranger from the NPS and a Canadian Ranger. You actually see where the boarder of the two countries divides the park. Great hike and boat ride.

The International Peace Park Hike follows along the west side of Upper Waterton Lake from the Waterton townsite to Goat Haunt in Glacier Park, Montana. As this hike does cross the international boundary, you are required to present a passport or other documents to US Border Security on arrival at Goat Haunt. The presence of Homeland Security personnel is quite... More

I have to admit that we signed up for the ranger-led hike, but I backed out of it at the last minute. I feared that it would be too slow or boring. Or worse yet, the participants wouldn't be physically up to the challenge. Instead, we started out about an hour before the group and did it on our own.... More

I do it every time I go to waterton. It is 5 miles by air but 8.5 miles on the trail. The CDN side is quite up hill but once you reach the USA border it flattens out more. There are a few interesting points including a suspension bridge near the end as well as a narrow shale underpass where... More

There was a lovely boat ride to the end of the International Peace Park of Montana. We walked along the trail a short distance to a pavilion where the ranger gave a talk about the area. This is a peaceful, quiet, beautiful place to see. It is a short walk with breathtaking views.

You can take days or hours or just a boat trip. Cross into Montana, hike, or just sit and enjoy peaceful sounds! Plus the boat ride over is very interesting

This lopsided waterfall is a one of a kind. It is RIGHT along the road, so you can enjoy it from the base without walking at all. You can also hike to the top and enjoy the view where the water comes crashing down. There are always lots of deer and chipmunks around this area, so keep your eyes out!... More
