Very enjoyable walk around the park taking in the church, Italian garden, St Bertram's Bridge were we played pooh sticks (I won), past the Boil Holes along Paradise walk and then back down into the village, the beauty of the surrounding countryside cannot be beaten.More

Thank you for your excellent review, there is plenty to see and do and as you rightly say there are no admission costs and parking is free for National Trust members and Blue Badge holders.

Beautiful place to walk by the river - the Autumn colours were wonderful. Stopped at the café for coffee and scone - delicious. We had our dogs so sat outside on the terrace and took in the amazing view. We will definitely visit again next...More

So many things to do and see if you love the outdoors! Dovedale and the Stepping Stones and bful Ilam all one easy walk away. A must see! The NT cafe is abs amazing especially on a bful day in the sunshine. Views to die...More

The combination of small ornamental garden with great wall of trees in autumn colours, the river, the open parkland with crinoid rocks, the superb panoramic views in golden sunlight, and an appetising lunch at the cafe. What more could one want?More

Really enjoyed walking round, although steps down to the river are relatively steep and not ideal for the elderly.More

A beautiful place for a walk. A Lovely National Trust tearoom in a stunning location. Paths with decent access for pushchairs in the grounds. Definitely worth a visit.More
