Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You first must go to the visitors center and start your hike from La Morrera de Montsant! This little town which has been built around Montsant which is one of the 3 sacred mountains of Cataluñya: Montserrat, Montseny and Montsant...it is a beauty! The parc natural is maintained very well and the signs for the cami or trails are well marked. IN addition, the parc is maintained very well by the local forest rangers.

You gotta love a parc directed by an anthropologist! Molt be! Petons!

This nature park is one of the jewels of Catalonia: it overlooks one of the best wine regions and offers excellent walking in an untouched setting. There are walks for all levels and even after having explored the area for quite a few years now, we always discover something new. The park center in La Morera de Montsant provides maps and information about the many different routes.

This parc has so much beauty, would have loved to stay longer. I went for a run or hike early in the mornings in August. The temperature is nice and cool if you go early.

Our tour took us high in the mountains where we were greeted by a beautiful village and church, its amazing how they built these structures so long ago, our tour took us through the small alleyways to see the Black Madonna, I'm not religious person but it was inspiring. The views out side were magnificent along with the tram ride up the hill.

Very beautiful sceneries in the countryside. You particularly recommend the villages of Ulldemolins and la Morera de Monstant, just at the boundaries of the park.

Amazing views, medium-difficult path but it worths the effort because the nice walk through the top of the Serra major leverage the soul. The landscape seems a bit thirsty but in the middle of the route you will be copsed by the Clot del cirere that is a kind of oasis.

36 degrees predicted that day, so head to the mountains to find cool weather. Tour by car from Salou, because no hiking possibilities for us. We took the road to the village of La Morera de Montsant. Very pretty village, church burned by the French during the Napoleonic era oops! But perfect welcome and service at the small village bar next to the car park. Superb views, overlooking the terraced vineyards and olive trees and the foothills of the Serra. Information panels everywhere but in Catalan and Spanish, occasionally in English.
Then, direction Siurana. Arriving in the village, follow the “Cartoixa” sign to discover the Escladei charterhouse. Under restoration, this monastery given to the Carthusian monks in the 12th century is currently being restored and is magnificent to visit. Guide in French, at reception.
We then followed the road towards Escaladei and its viewpoint. Very unpleasant surprise to find a village completely closed to access, like the others, but to have to pay three euros for parking. very far from the village for people who cannot walk well, it was not pleasant. We reached the main car park on foot which was half empty, so incomprehension on our part, not having been directed there. From there, a fairly perilous start to the hike along the cliff looks magnificent, we did a short stretch to take a few photos. An old castle completely in ruins, and unfortunately we did not have the courage to go to the village which seemed to be really overlooking the mountain. The road to reach this point was however fabulous, with rock formations worthy of the rockies of Utah in the USA, a mini Zion Park or canyon land for those who know. Lots of places to stop for photos along the route.
Finally, on the way back to Salou, we finished our journey at the Panta de Siurana, an artificial lake formed by a dam where it was announced in other comments that there was a leisure center and we wanted there pique niauer. Unfortunately, the region is devastated, there is almost no water left in this lake, the drought seems terrible and everything is completely deserted. There is nothing left to do there except for a quick photo.
Return, then towards Salou to eat our picnic at the hotel since no picnic area could be found.
This park and its villages are a must-do, a magnificent stroll far from the tourist hustle and bustle of the beaches.
