The lake and the surrounding nature are breathtaking. Stunningly beautiful. You can find ideal spots to enjoy the scenery or have a barbecue with your friends. If you want to spend a night or two with your friends, the nearby wooden houses are a great option. However, there was trash at the entrance, on the grass, and around the lake. And not a single garbage can! I gave it two stars because this was so disappointing.

This is a small lake surrounded by a beautiful nature. To get there you need to take a very bad road, which again is much better than it was many years ago when I visited Prokosko lake last time. Still, it is not good and I recommend that you should take an agency to take you there, do not use your car. More and more tourist are coming here, especially from Arab countries, to enjoy the sights. This also takes away peacefulness this place used to have. Now there are a lot of cars around it and many people walking around, or driving quads up the hills. This inflow of tourists also contributed to opening of cafes and places to eat (let's be fair, these are not restaurants, more like families accepting guests for meals and charging for it). I also saw a sign Supermarket, which never existed before, did not visit it but as it is situated in one of the typical houses, it seems to be more of a small shop to buy some essential food and drinks than a supermarket. Novelty is also running water in houses, more modern toilet facilities and electricity - quite a number of houses have now solar panels and sewage system so the sewage waters are not running into the lake anymore. Weather changes here fast and dramatically so be prepared with good walking shoes, some warmer cloths, rainproof jacket. My group had a lovely lunch in one of the private houses, cannot unfortunately remember the family name, but it was away from the lake itself. Pies were great and we could have also a beer or plum brandy, however roasted lamb was undercooked as the host took it away from spit too soon. He is taking his own lambs for meal and you can even watch the process - if you have a gut for it. You can also sleep over the night, prices are not high, however typical accommodation is of a whole group of you in a single room - just like they used to live. This is still a beautiful village and area, but rapidly loosing its charm of remote and isolated settlement.
