Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great little museum that you could miss by just driving though. If you have a spare hour or two and just want to stretch your legs then this will provide that break in your journey while informing you about the local area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum today.
We were part of a large family group and there was something of interest for everyone, from 9-60+yrs.
Would definetely recommend this visit!
Very helpful and informative staff!

Was recommended a visit to the local museum.
For a $5.00 donation, spent @1 1/2 hours walking around the displays.
Very interesting, especially the old photos of local people, local townships and buildings.
I found the museum easy to walk around, set up nicely and friendly volunteers.

Kilkivan and District Museum is a labour of love for the staff who maintain it. They maintain detailed records of the families who contributed to Kilkivan's early days and are happy to roll their sleeves up to do a bit of research. The displays are wide ranging with some good militaria and a selection of outbuildings including butter churn, and railway sleeping quarters. Kilkivan itself has been "labelled" with all older buildings in the town described on brass plaques. The museum also supplies a key map to the history walk. There are a range of coffee shops, a pub and several antique and bric-a-brac shops to while away the time. Nice place for a stopover to break the journey.

Kilkivan is a nice peaceful small country town and you can get most of the supply's that you would need for a short stay at the Kilkivan Bush Camp.

This is a very well organised museum with a large collection thoughtfully displayed. It gave a very good overview of life in Kilkivan through the years. Collection of clothing particularly nice.
