Ao Manao is so calm. But the beach is not as white as others, perhaps it was located near the mouth of the river.

We went on foot. A bit far but doable. At the entrance of wing 5 you have to register. We didn't have our passport with us but got in anyway. The museum is closed, so is the mountain. You can only climb it on long weekends (eg thai newyear 2017). The beach was very clean. The water is clear enough... More

There are many things to visit around here,,I especially liked the beaches at Ao Manao, cheap beers, and food,,and the cleanliness of the place is great,,(makes a nice change) I would recommend a drive around Wing 5 air force base before relaxing under the umbrellas on the beach,,,,Also if you look around a bit, there is some reasonable priced accommodation ,,,Enjoy your... We've been visiting Ao Manao (Wing 5 of the Royal Thai Air Force) for 3 years now. A large un-extraordinary hotel but with spacious clean air-conditioned rooms overlooking the private bay. The tv in the rooms only has Thai channels and the wifi can be flakey. There is no safe but there are tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. The... More

Gorgeous hidden gem within the Wing 5 Military base. Embarrassingly took my boyfriend and I a few days to find it, as our maps kept pointing us in towards the base and we assumed we were not allowed to enter. Turns out it was because not the two of us were wearing helmets on our scooter, and that was the... More

One of the top beaches in Thailand - excellent value for your dollar - with 20B beach chairs and meals and drinks delivered to your chair what more can be asked - did I mention the sea breeze was very refreshing

Went to this especially for the monkeys first thing in the morning. Feels kinda strange riding a scooter over an air field runway but cool nonetheless . We had unshelled peanuts from the market and went to the base of the hill to see them.... At first they wernt visible until a branch moved and there they were high in... More

Lovely beach with a peaceful feeling. Not crowded mostly Thai families and a few foreigners. Some shops and bathrooms available and also a restaurant that is reasonably priced. Worthy of checking it out if you're visiting the area.

The beach is nice and has a special atmosphere because it is located inside the Air Force base. Unfortunately when we visited, 12-13 Feb 2017, there was very strong wind which made it impossible to swim. Normally the beach is quiet as locals say
